Following the submission of Change 1 financials to the DfT, we were again contracted to assist First group during the negotiation phase with the DfT and at this time we’re able to offer additional support including financial analysis across the wider P&L and a full update of the escrow financial model. We were able to complete this task at a considerably better value than our competitors by utilising the already robust review process in place by First at the time.
We have since worked with First on a number of projects, including the bid for a third direct award on the Great Western Railway contract and also an additional change project (DA2 Change 2) associated with the revised assumptions on the DA2 direct award.
Our flexible approach is such that we have been able to compliment First Group and GWR’s already expert bid and change team so that existing staff can be deployed as necessary. In addition, AMC is able to provide a multitude of services in the rail finance arena, from financial management and analysis in each of the major cost areas of rail operation, to financial modelling and direct negotiation with the DfT on existing rail franchises, change projects and competitive tenders.
